 Contact Us | Boiohpemelo Marimba BandAbout Us Who are we? Boiphemelo Marimba Band is a 4-piece marimba ensemble performing a unique fusion of traditional African and contemporary Western music. Established in 2004 by Sally Kuiper on a farm school called Sawmills Combined, where we were attending at the time. The school was situated on the Cheerio road in the Haenersts and Magoebaskloof area. As from 2009 we became a jointed venture with Bjatladi Youth Development which is based in Haenertsburg , where we teach other young children how to play. We believe in giving back to the community through our teaching as we had been taught by Sally Kuiper Our Music Our unique music, with its blend of African and western styles, is designed to incite dancing, joy and participation from our audiences. Each note played has a warm resonance and produce bright effect. Our music has a universal quality that appeals to all ages and background, unifying people beyond race, culture and creed.
